Nick first entered the London Insurance market on the 4th July 1977 and has worked with both larger and small Lloyd’s Insurance Brokers handling both London and International market business. In 2014 Nick was asked to take up the challenge of becoming Senior Marine Underwriter with Generali and although this period was educational, Nick realised that he prefers dealing with clients and finding solutions rather than being one step removed. For this reason, Nick was delighted to announce in 2019 that he had accepted the position as CEO at Ramon International Insurance Brokers which is recognised as a highly successful Lloyd’s Insurance Broker.

As the Chief Operating Officer of Ramon International Insurance Brokers Ltd, Beverley brings a wealth of experience and expertise in insurance operations, strategic management, and people-centric service delivery.
With a proven track record in optimising operational efficiencies and driving organisational growth, Beverley is responsible for overseeing Ramon International’s day-to-day operations, spearheading the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to streamline operations, enhance productivity and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
A Business and Finance graduate with over 33 years of experience with Lloyd’s Brokers, Beverley has honed her skills across various domains, from broking and Human Resources to business development and technology integration.
Her journey in the insurance industry has equipped her with a deep understanding of the intricacies of Lloyd’s market operations, enabling her to navigate complexities with finesse and agility.
Paul Wells
Chief Financial Officer
Paul is a graduate from Warwick Business School with over 25 years experience of running the finance departments of Lloyd’s brokers, 15 of these years as a main Board Director at Ramon.
Outside of work Paul enjoys football, foreign travel, scuba diving and all forms of motorsport.
Greg Mead

Greg began his career with a Lloyd’s Broker and quickly moved to placing a variety of UK risks in the London market. Following a move to an international broker, Greg spent time in the burgeoning markets of Eastern Europe, working out of regional offices in Moscow, Tashkent, and Baku. Upon returning to the UK, Greg followed his automotive passion, specialising in risk management & placement of insurance for engineering and motorsport businesses. After managing a large commercial team, Greg joined Ramon International in 2019 to lead the non-marine department and was appointed Director in 2022.
Stephen Smith
Director, Head of Marine & Transportation
Stephen launched his career in the marine company market in 1979 based at Lloyd’s. Following this he moved to a P&I Club as an underwriter specialising in the UK coastal and offshore sectors for both Hull & Machinery and Protection & Indemnity risks. In the 1990’s Stephen helped set up and was a Director of an MGA in London, underwriting Hull & Machinery Insurances for small craft throughout the world. In 2004 he joined the Marine Team of Lloyd’s Broker Cooper Gay placing business into overseas markets and additionally placing the Protection & Indemnity risks for two large Latin American State Oil Company’s. Following a short time at another P&I insurer Stephen was invited to join Ramon International in 2020 as head of the Marine & Transportation Department and was appointed a Director in 2022.
