Group Chief Executive Officer
Nick entered the London Insurance market in 1977, and over his career has worked with both larger and smaller Lloyd’s Insurance Brokers, handling complex international business across a wide range of sectors. In 2014, Nick was appointed Senior Marine Underwriter with Assicurazioni Generali in London, where he made significant contributions to the firm’s growth, particularly in the maritime insurance sector. His role involved managing a diverse portfolio of Marine risks, working closely with international clients to provide tailored underwriting solutions.
In 2019, Nick was invited to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Ramon International. Under his leadership, the company has undergone a major transformation, including the acquisition of several other Lloyd’s Brokers to form part of the Kastor Group, diversifying its offerings and entering niche product areas that complement its core services. Nick has also been instrumental in the company's international expansion, leading projects such as the establishment of new Group companies with offices in South Korea and the USA. These initiatives have broadened the Group’s global footprint, tapping into new markets and further strengthening its competitive position in the insurance sector.

As the Chief Operating Officer of Ramon International, Beverley brings a wealth of expertise in insurance operations, strategic management, and people-focused service delivery.
With a proven track record in driving operational excellence and fostering organisational growth, Beverley plays a pivotal role as a main board director overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations. She leads the development and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at streamlining processes, boosting productivity, and ensuring that all operations align with the strategic objectives of the Kastor Group.

Paul is a highly experienced and qualified finance professional with a strong background in the insurance and Lloyd’s broking sector. A graduate of Warwick Business School, he leads the financial operations of Ramon International, ensuring robust financial governance, strategic growth, and effective risk management.
Paul has been instrumental in the company’s expansion into a successful Group of insurance businesses. As a main Board Director, he continues to drive financial strategy and operational excellence, supporting the Kastor Group’s ongoing success in the evolving insurance market.

Stephen Smith

Stephen Smith
Director, Head of Marine & Transportation
Stephen launched his career in the Marine company market in 1979 based at Lloyd’s. Following this he moved to a P&I Club as an underwriter specialising in the UK coastal and offshore sectors for both Hull & Machinery and Protection & Indemnity risks. In the 1990s Stephen helped set up and was a Director of an MGA in London, underwriting Hull & Machinery Insurances for small craft throughout the world. In 2004 he joined the Marine Team of Lloyd’s Broker Cooper Gay placing business into overseas markets and additionally placing the Protection & Indemnity risks for two large Latin American state oil company’s. Following a short time at another P&I insurer Stephen was invited to join Ramon International in 2020 as head of the Marine & Transportation Department and was appointed a Director in 2022.
